I agree, the gardineri definitely tames the petals which are so unusual on Chiu Hua Dancer. In a lot of ways, this cross looks almost like a really oversized, exagerated glanduliferum.

Here’s Cattleya tenebrosa in flower. These blooms are on a growth matured at the end of last year that sat in sheath all winter. There’s a newer growth that came in over winter/spring (same lead)...

Mine throw roots at random times in their growth cycle, anytime during a new growth's maturation. I also tend to get a couple of growths a year...I have new growths just maturing as well as new eyes...

I've been growing this plant only since last fall, so I can't take much credit for this bloom, but it's exciting anyway. They just opened overnight.
