That looks like it could be damage from spider mites, tiny 8-legged beasties. Take a tissue and run it along the undersides of the leaves. Squashed mites leave brown or reddish streaks on the tissue....

The entire pseudobulb may die, or it may survive with a dry brown scar. I would not cut it off because it might still be able to make new growth. Treat the plant normally; don't worry about rotting.
