Thanks for the tips, I'll cut the shredded ends off of it and dab them in cinnamon to prevent infection. I am so bummed, it is one of my favorite orchids.

And yeah, my cats like the oncidium types...

Thanks! I did actually water my orchids the other night, and one slug crawled out and disappeared somewhere in my house. I freaked out, but my husband thinks the cats got it, lol. Hopefully they did....
