The plants are probably fresh out of tissue culture....most likely 6 months old or so. From this size, N.sanguinea takes about 5 years to reach it's mature size of one and a half feet across.

Figured I'd update....the plant has since bounced back and appears to be making a flower stalk..so all in all, it was just a case of "Stuff happens"....I'd order from Andy again.
