well for me, mine's like the extreme case of s/h. my water loving phrags sit in tubs of water that submerses 1/2 the pot, they are in hydroton (completely inorganic) and they seem to love it, tonnes...

my wet phrags are pretty much grown IN the water, haha!! usually the pot is more than half submersed at anytime. and their roots just love it--they suck it half way down on a good sunny and warm day....

i agree with the people here. i would just leave it alone. the new stuff with always dry off quicker than the old stuff b/c itz new. and the other think i would take note of is the pot size--big pots...

the old roots will eventually darken but nonetheless its just the normal process of adapting/dying and being replaced by new roots that are adapted to the new system. i grow majority of my plants...
