Leaves are 6-9 inches long. It hangs in a tree and gets a fair amount of light. I've read that they can take quite a bit. Mine also dries out--not on purpose!

If one sticks ones nose into the flower, it is not exactly pleasant but it is not as stinky as the echinolabium. The echinolabium stinks when standing close by.
