I don't have this. The people I know who grow it water almost every day and maintain high humidity. It's considered a deep shade plant.

14 hours of daylight is unneccessary and probably too much....

Soak some in a bowl for a few hours. If it becomes mushy I wouldn't use it. Otherwise I would use it.
