With just a link in your post, I'm afraid your intention isn't very clear. Do you have a question about the medium or are sharing for information purposes?

thanks for pointing that out camille1585. Somehow only the link remained

I am just wanting to share a basic version of germination and replating media that i am having success with.

When i started out i used to go through a lot of media mostly due to contamination and was looking for something cheap back then. I figured, I could help someone like me in their formative years.[COLOR="Silver"]

Ah you're from Inaya Orchids (Blog) - I read you blog. Always interested in finding alternate ways of doing things.

BTW re. snails in your last blog are you referring to the very small snails which reside inside orchid pots? - they are called garlic snails in Australia. There apparently are chemicals for treating these but are extremely toxic and dangerous to us - not available in Australia without special licences. For a safer solution have a look at what the AOS had to say here - Snails and Slugs. I use the Iron based one around the orchid pots. The ones containing Metaldehyde are more toxic and seem to be commercially offered less-and-less because of their toxicity. There are also ones containing Methiocarb. Again for use outside pots.

@dnatural1. THanks for the suggestions. I have tried the bait with Sulfur as active ingredient and didnt work. the baits were uneaten and eventually got fungus. I will try the one with the Iron Phosphate. Have a good weekend.
