They're looking great! The idea still scares the bejeezus out of me, though. Probably for the same reason I don't want small children at this stage in my life!

I just don't want to take that stand. I figure people who buy flasks should be advanced enough to be able to gaurentee that they will grow.

I think his point is that he's ready to try, see what happens, and learn from the experience. You have to start with one first flask, so "hope for the best and expect the worst (you may be Tolstoy or Fannie Hurst)".

Your flask project has really caught my attention, despite my previous comments. I've been eyeing some flasks myself, and thinking about how and where I could set them up.

well, I don't know if I would have had the courage to start one unless I had the greenhouse....but obviously, from other efforts, the greenhouse isn't necessary......it just made me more brave....

my flask of phrags have proven to really be tough....it was a good assortment of big plants and tiny ones....I dropped a clay hanging pot on them, let them go too long without being watered (I slept in) and have generally been cavalier in their treatment BUT THEY INSIST ON GROWING!

Yeah, a greenhouse isn't happening here. However, I believe that with some re-arrangement of the collection I could find space in my kitchen grow window. IF I do this it'll have to be a Phal flask but as each day of thinking about it the "if" becomes softer and the "when: becomes firmer. Now, I'd expect, especially with a first flask, that I could lost a fair percentage of the plants and yet I'm already worrying about how I would re-home a whole bunch of seedlings.

Good going so far. Well as fun as it sounds I'm not in yet. I'll just live precariously through you people.
