Will flasked seeds germinate under water?
Hello orchid enthusiasts! I just tried my hand at flasking for the first time and I have a concern about my flasks. When I plated the seed, I think I used a little too much water to spread the seeds. There is about 2mm of water above the surface of the agar, and I'm afraid it might prevent the seeds from germinating.
These are phal seeds that I crossed for fun and to practice flasking. I'm using phytotech seed sowing media with the recommended addition of coconut water.
I asked the orchid subreddit and got one response that they should be ok, but I thought I'd check with this community as well since there seem to be a lot of experienced flaskers.
