I think I made a mistake (ho ho)
Well, hello!
(Gosh, this turned a bit long, if tldr: I pollinated my orchids and now at least one of the flowers is changing appearance, is this an indication of that it "worked"?)
The day before I joined this site I decided to try to cross my two orchids, for fun! I thought to myself "How cool wouldn't it be if my two orchids that I've had for some time had a baby?". And well... Now I've read about flasking etc and began to "woops"... This seems to be waaay too advanced for me, but maybe I could make it work anyway?
I can say that if I had known that orchids were that difficult to grow from seeds I would probably not have attempted to cross my orchids now, maybe in a few years when I (hopefully) got a place of my own and more space to work with. But well, done is done.
I have noticed that one of the flowers I involved in the pollinating thing has become a bit "swollen" and more yellow and than the others on the same plant, is this an indication of that it "worked"? I don't know much about all this, obviously, but how long would it take for it to grow a seed pod etc if it did work? And would I have to use the seeds right away when they're "ready" or could I save them for a year before trying? I suppose I could try growing them if I get any, but atm I'm just scared xD
I'll include photos of a normal flower and the one that is changing a bit.
Thanks in advance!
