That is a very tough environment to keep your orchids happy from 115f to frost in the winter.

We never get frost here as we are at sea level but we a very cold S/W winds and that is when we get a 3c or 37f. The wind chill get the temp even lower for an orchid sitting in those conditions.

Yes it is a huge orchid. They get so heavy in their natural environment that their weight brings down large trees.

Grammatophyllum

The flask is Gram elegans x Gram rumphianum is still very happy in the 2 pots that came from out of the flask.

The leaves are starting to turn dark green. Am thinking about putting them under 50% shade cloth bush house with an extra 50% shade cloth over the top of the orchids as well. Is this a good way to get them into a normal environment? At present they are in very bright shade. The humidity is still very high but the temp has dropped a bit to just normal hot.

The seedlings are taking a fert every 5 days or so.

Have adjusted there sunlight to about 70% shade for a 10hr day.

Another couple of weeks or the next cooler spell will get them into 50% shade for 5hrs and slowly increase their day to 10hrs.

Really happy how they have grown.

More flasks for summer next year looks like the go.

The Grams that were planted into two pots out of a flask have done really well.

Still have not lost a plant and there in 50% shade for around 8hrs a day now.

Some of the smaller plants I placed into the side of the pot that gets the most sunlight hoping that will get them to grow more and catch up to the other bigger plants.

Looking at the separate plant now and they look young mature plants.

We have 10 to 11 weeks of good growing weather and possibly a bit more.

The gram orchids look to be a track to pot singularly next spring.
