In Spring 2012 we had a project on this plant. I got mine to bloom and selfed the blooms. To cut a long story short, I picked up the flask of seedlings recently.
I couldn't find any advice or opinion on deflasking/ growing on, so I improvised. Hopefully this works as I had the mother plant's growing conditions in mind.
1) I purchased 4x 4 inch clear plastic saucers and made plenty of holes in the bottom and sides of each ( for drainage and aeration purposes )
2) I also got 4x 4inch clay saucers to stand the plastic saucers in. ( for cooling and rapid drying )
3) A layer of seedling bark was placed into each plastic saucer. Then the seedlings, then a wrapping/layer of sphagnum moss.
Points to note - what a mass of roots each seedling had ! Difficult to separate. I dread doing so when these are larger. I put a couple in 2 inch pots. These compots will eventually be mounted - 3 plants per mount. So the plan is to go from saucer to compot to mount for the others as soon as large enough. You may wonder why the plastic saucer first - well these plants are perfect for mounting and the roots fasten to mounts very quickly. That's the last thing I wanted with clay saucers which many people use as a mount for these plants. BTW - the biggest plant has leaves of about 1/2 inch. They are truly a nightmare to separate and plant.
