Default Phalaenopsis Column Before & After Pollination

These photos show how the reproductive structure of a Phalaenopsis hybrid changes after it has been pollinated.

Before: The structure (circled in red) is wide open, ready to receive pollen.

After: A few days after pollination, the structure closes tightly, its color becomes more yellow, and it begins to swell.
