Default Alternative to keiki grow?

Are there any alternatives to keiki grow that i could find at a home depot? Would regular rooting hormone work? Are there things that i can make?

Not understanding your line of questioning and would like to help. Are you wanting a product that will help an orchid produce a keiki or are you asking about what to use after an orchid has produced a keiki?

I tried applying rooting hormone to the nodes on a phal inflorescence. The plant flowered again, but no keikis developed. I've seen recipes for making keiki paste on the web. Here's one, and you can probably find more.

I read somewhere in one of my magazines, either here at home or the depot that if you subject a phalaenopsis to a 6 week cool down period and initiate spiking and if and when the spike is about 2 inches you can increase the temp to a warmer level this can cause the plant to produce a keiki instead of a bud. Might be worth the try.

It's worth a try, not one I have initiated as of yet, but I have a Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope that might be forced to produce an off-spring verses a bloom this coming season. But than again I have had phals that have rebloomed from an accidental stem cutting. So you just never know, sounds logical.

I order mine from Plant hormones Canada the keiki grow and keiki root . At one time I tried running green willow bark thru a blender and applying it . It has a hormone in it besides being an asprin component that is supposed to promote growth , nothing happned . Gin

Nothing to it , peel back the bract that covers a node apply and put a dab of cotton on it . I finally got a keiki on a Phal. violacia took a long long time then had to use the keiki root . Like everything else sometimes it works some times not Gin
