Ok I thought I'd lower the tone of this discussion
At the orchid growing workshop I went to last weekend, a guy who owns a big cymbidium nursery was talking about a visit to China he made where they had big black piles next to all the polytunnels where they grow vegetables & herbs etc.. anyone care to take a guess at what that black pile was made of?

I had this idea, but it sounded so weird, that I went for the cows. By the way, the stuff from the toilet is the worst manure option. I heard that it is not good for orchids and other plants, because people are omnivorous, that's why the quality is very poor. In fact, the appliance of that stuff can have rather negative than positive results.
