Question Culling Compots

About how long to you let your seedlings grow (or not grow) in the compot before you cull them?

I have some Dens and some Catts in compots (from flasks) and some seem to have stalled. I probably got 15 good seedlings from the Catt flask and 20 or so from the Den flask. The other 40 or so are in compots but are pretty well stalled in my opinion.

They have been in the compots for maybe 3 months if memory serves.

I'm thinking I should cull and concentrate on the ones that are thriving and clear my space for the 2 flasks I just got in the mail.

I'm not a commercial grower...just a hobbyist.

What would you do?

My advice would be to keep them in compots as long as possible, mainly for space considerations. They can grow happily in the compots for a lot longer than we realize, and that should limit the bench space they take up.

I'd keep them for the sake of you never know what'll survive.

Safety in numbers. That's how mother nature intended it, and I'd keep that into consideration.

3 months is way too soon to give up. They might languish through winter but really take off in spring.
