hello everyone!

Can't find the recipe with the banan in it, but do recall seeing it somewhere.

I did find recipe for Knudson's formula C which Walter Upton recomended for Australian Dendrobiums.

Calcium Nitrate 1.00g
Potassium phosphate 0.25g
Magnesium sulphate 0.25g
Ammonium sulphate 0.50g
Ferrous sulphate 0.025g
Manganese sulphate 0.0075g
Sucrose ( sugar) 20.0g
Agar 18.0g
Distilled water 1000mL

Upton, W. Dendrobium Orchids of Australia (1989) Houghton Mifflin Australia p 182

I'll continue to search for the banana recipe, but can't find it at the moment

Hey!

Thanks for the formula. If you do find the formula with the banana puree in it, please let me know. Its just alot easier to get ingredients like that.

Any other recipe´s will be welcomed too!

Check this thread: Is there a 100% homemade media recipe that doen't require replating?

Hey royal orchids,

thanks for the reply but i´ve decided to go with a modified knudson C medium i found online. i just have to wait for the pods to ripen now but somethings happening and they´re drying out. I had 12 pods on the plant and now i´m left with 6 or less

12 pods is a lot. The plant knows it doesn't need that much seed and probably dropped half in order to devote enough energy to the remaining 6.

Going with a commercial media is a smart choice. It is possible to make media on our own if we must, but using a proven formula limits the variables. Good luck!

I guess you are right. Well anyway the 6 is down to 4 as of 2 days ago. I hope that at least those 4 will mature enough to be sowed.

Thanks I'm gonna need the luck.
