Seed Phalaenopsis wanted Female
Question Seed Phalaenopsis wanted

I would like to try to prapagate orchid through seed. I would like to try this with the mini phalaenopsis or the 'normal' phalaenopsis. I allready searched the list from the OSP, but they hardly have any phalaenopsis'.

Is there anyone on this board who has phalaenopsis seed from either a mini phalaenopsis or a normal phalaenopsis and is willing to send it to me? Offcourse I will pay for the shipping costs. It would make me very happy to have some Phalaenopsis seeds!
I prefer white colored phalaenopsis.

Greetings,
Sanne

p.s. I can pollinate my own phalaenopsis' (and I will do that) but I would like to try propagation of orchids in the next couple of months. And I have to wait 6 months before I can harvest my own seeds

"Hardly" implies that they do have some. Surely they are either "mini" or "normal."

In this case it means that they don't have what I'm looking for. They do have seed that is problably dead... (Phalaenopsis stuartiana x out (3589) From 2006- probably dead (too old). @ $4.00 )
and they have seed from a red phalaenopsis (Phalaenopsis pulchra (3791) From 5/08. @ $4.00). In my first message I also mentioned that I am looking for seed from a white phalaenopsis. So I am still looking for seed from a white phalaenopsis...

Yeah, after I made that post I went to the OSP site and saw what you were talking about.

Overseas shipping gets kind of complicated. My advice would be to post a "Wanted" ad in the classified ad section and in the mean time - get some of your own seed going by ordering a few Phals you like and pollinating them. There has to be a great selection of mature plants available to you. That way would give you seed to your exact specifications or your ideal cross. If you can't wait 4 months for the seed to develop, maybe you should reconsider this experiment - setting seed is the fast part!

If you just need practice, order something from OSP even if it isn't exactly what you want. You'll want to have a little experience under your belt by the time your "ideal seed" comes around.
