Trinimom, if the keikis are growing on pieces of the stems that are already removed from the plant, you can keep the keiki on the stem and plant it. I have done this before with Dendrobiums. When anything happens and I remove a cane for some reason (usually on accident) I keep the cane laying around and they sometimes shoot out a keiki. Since the cane is already removed, you can just lay the cane over the top of the pot (mine usually go over the edges of the pot but that is fine) and just fill in the medium in the pot. The keiki will eventually feel the medium and start rooting into it. That way you can let the plant decide when it is ready to be potted up! Good luck!
