If you flask yourself, try green pod, it's much easier as you can toss the pod in alcohol, flame it, and sprinkle the seeds.
If you send seeds, the best way (IMO) is dried, the pod will most likely burst in transit anyway.
@Dorchid : it's super easy and cheap to send seeds overseas, I just posted a letter to the US, for the whopping price of €1.6!

yeah, as mr. f says, it shouldn't be a big deal. and, while i thought all of the reciprocal crosses had failed, i'm slightly optimistic that maybe i was presumptuous and the flava plants are just making the capsules muuuuuch more slowly. neither of the flowers have dropped, both plants' ovaries are turning green and swelling in the same place....so, maybe there is a chance! may have more seeds than we know what to do with if luck is on our side
edit, added a couple pics i just took to show the difference in the flowers. these two in this post are both flava seed parent ovaries. these 2 plants and the two in the op were pollinated within 1 day of each other. weird. but it looks to me like something may be happening. anybody know if this is a sign that the seeds may not be viable (assuming these caps continue to develop, that is) if they are indeed capsules, then it seems super slow

well ob, some juicy fails for your pleasure and entertainment! all cross attempts with siderea japonica have failed. here is a photo of the last dead cap still hanging on!
the 2 mannii flavas that i was hoping would make it have also failed
but the parishii x flava is still growing, so that so far gives us 75% success with flava as pollen donor and 0% success with flava a seed parent. my new working hypothesis is that the plants are just too young to bear seed but the pollen is good...hopefully
and last an update pic of one of the mannii x flava caps as they are still getting bigger and juicier!

and last for this morning is a comparison pic for 3 days post pollination of the yang yang supermodel x schilleriana.
first is the 3rd, unpollinated flower 2 days after first opening
this is one of the pollinated flowers 3 day after pollinating.
stamen is swelling nicely and overall both flowers are yellowing, so i am hopeful for this cross as i think it would make some interesting offspring!
