The picture is of my Vanda Sansai Blue which is very tall. Would it be possible to cut the stem and put the plant in a separate basket? Would a new plant grow on the bottom part of the stem? I’ve had it about 10 years, and it blooms every summer/fall. I put it outside during the summer, but the rest of the year it is under artificial lights.

Your cutting would have to be well rooted beforehand. I really don't see a place to cut.

Ray is spot-on. The top part doesn't have roots. Cut the plant and you're likely to kill both parts.
