Has anyone tried LED lights from Horticultural Lighting Group?

Horticulture Lighting Group Premium LED Grow Lights for Agriculture

I've heard very good things from people that do indoor farming. The lights seem very compact and powerful. My worry is that they're actually too powerful for just growing shelves of orchids, and I'd be better off with something cheaper.

Specifically the light mentioned here: LED Gardener Video Review - Horticulture Lighting Group

161 lumens/watt is nice.

Interesting, would like to hear what others think. Too much light? Why, when you can control the amount of light received by each plant by tweaking the distance of the plant from the lamp, as well as the daily photoperiod. I have had my full spectrum LED fixtures for only about a month and am watching and tweaking a lot. So far, things seem to be going well. I am seeing new root growth and it seems to be happening faster and with more vigor than anything I had seen in my natural light environment. I am seeing some red tinges on some leaves, so that is signaling that the plant is receiving max light.

But you had asked specifically about Horticultural Lighting Group. Mine are from ActiveGrowLED and I purchased them at Harris Seeds.

but if you paying for more power then you need it can get expensive. I can grow phals under a 18 watt light 24" away. closer for the high light guys. I had to get more light for the oncidiums and the higher light guys I got a 82 watt fixture as a refurb for 60.00 but they are hot and cost more to run.

So, I bought an HLG65 to test it out.

Pros:

-Insanely bright, you can't look at this light without a couple pairs of sunglasses

-Very light

-Comes with hanging attachments

-only uses 65watts

Cons:

- if you have a misting system you'll need to find your own waterproof housing

-It's too bright. I'm using it to light a tank, and it's way too bright directly under it, and not bright enough near the sides. I'd get a couple of their smallest models in the future rather than one HLG65 (their second smallest model)

do you have any photos of the HLG65 installed in your grow room?

When you say too bright, how close was the light to the plants?
