Brown spots on new phal leaf
1 Attachment(s)
I don't much like the look of this . . . Grateful for advice. Thanks.
It looks fine.
Think about leaves in terms of pointillism painting, there are a lot of colors that make up the leaf. High light and genetics account for most of red/purple/brown spots. Sometimes the colors are graduated, sometimes they happen in spots. |
Oh, what a relief! Many thanks. :)
And most likely, the color will graduate out or even completely fade away as it grows.
Oh, interesting . . . Another fascinating thing about phals!
I personally like high anthrocyanin (purple-red pigments) leaves so some of my plants get threshold light.
I'm not familiar with threshold light . . . ?
Per Google dictionary:
the magnitude or intensity that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, phenomenon, result, or condition to occur or be manifested. |
Great - I'll enjoy my phal of many colors. Thanks again.
Phals are low-light, shade plants. Most develop this kind of pigmentation in light that is higher than necessary. It doesn't hurt the plant at all.
