How long do flowers last Cyp. Calceolus/Parviflorum?

Got my first ever flower after about 4 or 5 years of growing a handful. It's also the only plant still alive so its extra special. I'm a bit stretched for time but want to do some photos that will take me along time to do +/- buying a few things IF I have the time - how long do I have before the flower passes it's best?

I am in NW UK, Manchester area.

If it's in bloom, get your camera out if it is fully open. It is sad when one waits for a "better time" and the flower fades before that comes.

Hi Thanks,

But how long is that? A few days? A week? Two weeks? Longer?

Climate is around 6 C night and 15 C day at the mo.

I'm not familiar with this group, but this is a native orchid (wildflower) and typically those don't last very long - I would guess a few days or a week. Anything beyond that is a bonus. Don't push your luck...

OK Thank you. I will cancel tomorrow's day out and try. Noticed today though it must still be opening as the slipper is noticeably larger than yesterday. Not sure if too big for my tastes. Was a nice balance yesterday. Who knows for tomorrow.

They last quite a while, and at least >1 week for sure. I don't have C. calceolus or C. parviflorum var. parviflorum, but I'm basing it on C. parviflorum var. pubescens.
