2 Attachment(s)
A picotee-flowered form of Den. moniliforme. :)
Flower opens with light green color which turns white after about two days. The lip has a green disk with a purple spot, while the margin of tepals are tinged with purple which gives sharp outline-like effect to the flowers. |
Beautiful little Den, I love this species. I love the purple outline effect, the blooms look stunning with that!

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1519793977 http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1519793977 Unfortunately, one cane has its buds facing right opposite to buds of other canes. I've recently moved into a new home during bud development so it had to be kept inside a insulated cardboard boxes for about a week. I think that caused some confusion on the orientation but I am just grateful that non of the buds got blasted during that time. Anyway, I'd recommend Den. moniliforme to anyone who wishes to grow a dendrobium but has limited space. It is compact, yet really floriferous, hardy and tough & very easy to grow. Also it has tons of variations in flower color and shape, and some even has complex variegation in the foliage. I think everyone who likes orchids should grow this wonderful little species. |
Wow, it's putting on a really nice show.
