Miniature orchid with no ID
1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,
I would like your help with this new one found, Im not even sure if its an orchid at all, any help will be gladly accepted! |
It is an orchid. It looks a lot like a miniature dendrobium. It could be something else, though.

I am absolutely no help, but how cool to be having something like that growing on a post outside! Is it by your house?
|
It's an Eptidendrum (a group that has been moved from Epidendrum to Nanodes and back to Epidendrum), related to Epi. porpax. There are a bunch that look very similar, and that also get moved around as far as what species are distinct and what are synonyms so you will probably not get a positive species ID - even the scholars disagree on the details. But it's similar to Epi. discolor, Epi. gnomos, Epi. schlecterianum, Epi. purum, etc. in terms of growth habit.

I agree with Roberta, Epidendrum. I recently acquired a Epidendrum congestoides and it looks very similar. Your picture looks more like schlecterianum. Nice plant!
