Orchids in the genus Isochilus don't really get mentioned much. So here's a little love towards one species in this genus. I've had had this probably since 2005. It was originally from Tropical Orchid Farm. I love this species for many reasons.

A) It is temperature tolerant.

B) It is very resilient.

C) It is very easy to grow.

D) As long as the growth is mature it will bloom regardless of the time of year it is.

E) The plant/leaves are very attractive even when it is not in bloom.

F) The colors on the flowers are vibrant.

When I got it, the plant had only 4 growths. Now, it is a beast that fills an 8" pot.

I like it. Colorful and the dark throat draws me in.

Very cool. I have not heard of this one before.

I had one some years back...sold it though.

I agree that it's a very easy grower/bloomer.

Would you mind taking a pic that shows scale so people can get a good idea of how small the flowers are?

Quite frankly, that's why I sold it...i have moved away from small flowered orchids but I know many people love them.

It was difficult to take a measurement of the plant itself while taking a photograph, so I'll just type that one of the longest growths is about 14" (about 35.5 cm) long.

Each leaf is about 3.9 cm - 4 cm long. At it widest portion, the leaf is about 0.3 cm - 0.4 cm across.

The flowers are about 1 cm long and 0.5 cm across. So, yes, each individual flower is quite small.

This is one I like to run my fingers through and pet. :)

The first set of pics are for the floral dimensions.

These pics are to show the leaves and vegetative portion of the plant.

Excellent scale shots! I appreciate you taking the time to do that and I'm sure others will too.

The foliage was always pretty...that's probably why I kept it as long as I did.

Very cool and not a group I've grown yet. Do they take hot conditions?
