Database Error

I've been getting this intermittently tonight:

I haven't detected a pattern, yet.

Happens when I'm NOT logged in. It will list "Today's Posts" but can't navigate to posts/threads.

I have never gotten that before. I guess I will see if I get it today. I am finally back on the computer and was only checking on my husbands kindel. So I couldn't stay on long.

Same exact thing happened to me this morning when I got on the board and just tried to look at posts as a guest. As soon as I logged on, the issue went away. This is the first time I've ever seen such a thing.

I don't know if it is a coincidence but I closed the old browser and opened OB on a new browser. Seems to be working. Chrome, that is.

Well, that's scary. I've never seen that myself though.

I got the same message through most of the day. In fact, it's caused me a great deal of stressful withdrawal!

Got it myself this morning. Reloaded page and it went away.

This is only a guess....

software like this keeps track of which person requested which page recently. It is often kept in temporary memory in a cache. If something goes wrong the different parts of the software forget how to read each other's lists of who has seen what, and an error like this can happen.

The system operator can delete all the caches and let the software recreate them, solving the problem.

This happened all day. Anything OB got it on two devices, three browsers. I think Comcast did something to something that triggered something in OB to issue this to me.

Spent a frustrating time with Comcast. Comcast couldn't get here either (after spelling O.R.C.H.I.D.B.O.A.R.D about 10 times, NOT kidding), telling me it didn't exist. I told them to Google it. They still couldn't get here. (And they still didn't get that Comcast was the common denominator).

I don't know what happened nor how it was fixed. Just venting. No wonder cable/ISPs are universally vililfied!

Thanks Sonya Whiterabbit for contacting Marty for me.

ATT is the other option here. Doesn't sound like they are any better. But they are cheaper!

I checked OB early this morning (local time) and now on my desktop via CenturyLink DSL, and a couple of times through the day via my mobile phone running on the Sprint network. No problems.
