Masdevallia princeps- Photo Stack keeps going badly

Hi all,

So I was recently forced to update and pay for a new version of Photoshop. I've noticed that since then the errors in photo stacking have increased dramatically. Here is a picture I was taking today of M. princeps. Non too happy to say the least. Is it me? Is it my doing?

So I figured out what happened. I included one image twice causing the error.

Can I ask why are you stacking? With the lens you have you should be able to get the same result (or even deeper DOF) if you close to f:22 (but of course will need more light)

I feel I can get more detail and less aberation at lower f stops. You might have a point and I should give it a try.
