Cattleya maxima var semi-alba striata 'Manolo' AM/AOS

This plant was giving me grief when two of the three spikes aborted buds when I moved the plant to another light stand. Then the third spike started to abort one of the three buds and I panicked and moved it back to original shelf. There it was finally happy, stop sulking and opened the only two buds of 10 buds (which would have been the total buds in 3 spikes). Oiiii! Goes to show that if a plant is happy, don't move it lol 🤔

At 13 cm it's quite large and open for a maxima. The striata patterns on the petals were not as dark as before but I'm just happy I got to see some blooms. The flowers are imposing though, standing straight up and regal.

On a positive side another sheathless PB is showing 2-3 buds... 😅

Gorgeous!!! But don't give up hope on the other buds, at least until they totally blast.

I'm honestly pretty surprised I haven't already grabbed a SA seedling! One of these days....
