I have seen such or similar posted here and users say they have not had a problem, but as one posted, "there isn't a problem until there is one"

I don't care what you make it out of, a suction placed on a sunny window will take daily uv damage and fail because of it one day. Suction cups are often used in aquaria to secure equipment, but if what's being secured is let's say a level switch.........I always replace suction cups with magnets in applications where failure is not an option.
