Getting there
2 Attachment(s)
Well, I have a dend laevifolium in it's bloom, but first time blooms for an Onc 'Gold Dust' and a paph villosum selfing are on the way if I don't jinx them by posting.
Anyone want to guess at 70F how long it'll be before either of these open and color ? No prizes, but would love opinions, if you have any to offer. |
Oncidium can last 3-6 weeks depend on your temps.

Paphs can be really slow to develop buds. I often think they are getting close only to wait several more weeks. I think there is a way to go on that one, but won't be more exact ;)

Well, it's my first time to flower one from the ground up, so to speak....so I'll just wait. I've been amazed (after having my expectations set for slow) with how fast the spike has developed on the paph.
I've grown things in Oncidium alliance before, so that spike is no mystery to me. I'd say four to six weeks on it. Thanks for the reply folks... |
Surprisingly, the oncidium came into bloom about the first of December and the paph started opening about the eighth.
Both went faster than I expected (coming into bloom)...I've posted photos of the Onc, I'll post one of the paph when fully open. |
Ok, we made it...the paph is in bloom now too and I posted in the bloom forum.
I did nothing to cause it to not flower (lol). |
That's the most accurate growing statement I've heard in a long time. I have to remember that one.
