Could this be fertilizer burn?

1 Attachment(s)
I have noticed that the edges of all my phals have started to lighten and deteriorate. I have recently switched fertilizers for the winter. Could that be causing it? I've never seen anything like it! I've also had a problem with bud blast in both of my minis. The sad part? I'm only dosing with HALF what the package calls for. Any ideas? Insights? I went ahead and stopped using it and have flushed them all and drained them well.

That doesn't look like fertilizer burn to me. I'm not sure what might cause that.

The fertilizer was my first thought because it's what changed, and I used it on everyone. Hmmm...

Definitely I had one that died because of fertilize pour water from the top to wash the fertilize out. Hope it's not to late.

I flushed them out really well today. Well, looks like that brand was a bust. Back to just good husbandry and no additives for a while.

Are you sure that isn't normal for that Phal? It looks like some I have seen. I am quite sure it is not the fertilizer....Jean

It's actually 4 different plants. Two are minis, two are regular size. All different colors too.

That's just variegation. Some cultivars are edged in yellow.
It's intentional.
Phal sogo Vivien is a good example of this. Nothing to do with fertiliser.
The edges get more intense with proper lighting and care.

As far as bud blast...
What's your humidity like?
Watering schedule?
Do you have and fruit or drafts near them?

My Phals also have yellow edges. They're healthy and tested virus free, so I think it's just genetically in the plant.

Unless you are applying fertilizer SO strongly that you are poisoning the plant and killing the roots, it take months for a change to become evident.

Just to keep facts straight, "half of the recommended rate" is meaningless. What is the formula, and how much did you use per gallon?
