Took a Caribbean break from sub-zero temps recently. Found "Orchid World" on Barbados. Amazing collection and beautiful grounds, if you're ever in the vicinity.

Is this the same place with the caves? I might be confusing it. The place I went to had an orchid house, and it was the first time I smelled an Oncidium. I have been to Barbados 4 times, but the last time was maybe 12-13 years ago. Its a beautiful island.

Not sure if there were caves in the area. It is a unique island in the Caribbean as it is a coral uplift instead of volcanic. The ship docked in Bridgetown and Orchid World is about 8 miles inland, basically the middle of the island. It was my first time there- would love to go back and spend more time there instead of just day excursions on the cruise. |
