Encyclia cordigera- First bloom
Two blooms on this little one. The color is great, but hopefully the lip will open up a bit next year.

Very nice! Is it scented?
|
It is supposed to be scented, but I haven't detected any fragrance yet.
|
Try giving it a whiff in the early mornings, just as the light hits the flower. :)
|
Beautiful flower. Give it more humidity and you will notice the fragrance.
|
Nice!

I think it just might be a first bloom flaw. I hope!! ---------- Post added at 05:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:38 PM ---------- And thanks for the compliments everyone! |
Ah.. sorry it didn't work. I have a phal that I was told had a scent when I bought it. Supposedly it smells like oranges... I didn't notice anything for a couple of days and read someone on OB offering that advice, then got up early one morning and walked over and gave it a whiff...
Well, I'm not sure that scent is oranges at all. It smells sort of like oranges, I guess, if they were mixed with a bottle of new car smell. LOL! |
My Encyclia randii bloomed but I did not smell anything until 4-5 days later. So, may be yours is just taking time like mine.
