I love the bright colors of the flowers. The contrast with the deep green leaves is eye catching.
I also have problems with the tip of the leaves getting fungi. Coelogyne is a sensitive leafed plant=it is thin and easy to get damaged. I refrain from wetting the leaves if I can.

The tips of the leaves also die back because of too much salt build up in the pot and because of insufficient humidity around the plant. I had this happen to my coelogyne usitana, and I *never* get the leaves wet. I think it was from salt build up in the pot, because I hadn't flushed the pot in a while.

I LOVE this species... I've wanted to try it for a while, but I haven't done any of the homework on it. Is it easy to grow? What's it's culture like?

Very nice Sprtrizio but wait until it gets large  I finally found someone to take mine because it was spilling over a 20 inch basket.

The leaves on the pandurata are not really thin but have substantial stiffness in them. They stand very erect as seen in the picture. They are sensitive to salt build up but I use rain water so never had the problem. My plant hung above my head height and the leaves got wet every time I watered it.

The fragrance of this species is outstanding but the blooms only last about 10 days/2 weeks.

Are they easy to divide? My usitana is my first coelogyne and it's a division. I was thinking this might be one way to manage the size once it gets past a place where you like growing it, you can take off a chunk, or several and sell them or donate them to someone else's collection. :D

I don't have the usitana and never divided the pandurata but my other Coel never miss a beat when divided.

I have a Coel. lawrenceana that was huge and used a hacksaw to cut it into multiple large pieces to give away. All recipients say they never had a problem. When I cut a pbulb in two, I just removed it from the clump.
