Catasetum lanciferum
4 Attachment(s)
One of the wonderful Brazilian Catasetums, this species comes from open savannahs, where it grows on the trunks of palm trees. It has the same trident callus with the parallel antennae on it as Catasetum gladiatorium. It is closely related to gladiatorium and deusvandoi, and appendiculatum is probably a synonym.
Not difficult to grow. Special thanks again to Ian, who compiled the lip details of the related species in my gladiatorium thread. |
Impressive flowers.
It is an interesting orchid with its color and form. You are able to maintain clean leaves, my Catasetinae plants are either fungi ridden or was eaten by bugs....I am highly doubtful it will bloom for me this year. I must let them remain indoors next blooming cycle. |
Awesome!
