I am Czech originally, lived there till I was 26, and than left to the USA, where I am living already over 11 years:-) I admire all Czech friends, I do remember how hard it was to make them thrive at the old times, thanks God for all these new hybrids, nowadays it is pretty easy at least with some, like Phals, even my mom can keep them alive and they are blooming for here every year, even when she is here in the states for 3 months and my sis takes care of them -or does she:-) My sis has absolutely no green thumb what so ever, but mom told me, that her Phals were blooming when she left this year in February to be with us here, and when she came back end of may, they were still blooming:-) my cousin in Prague has over 30 Phals in her house, inside on the windows, no winter garden, and they are blooming like crazy:-) May I ask, what do you have in your collection of orchids?

yes, Phalaenopsis are very easy to cultivate. I like very much Dendrobiums (as I manage to make them reflower in one year) and other orchids like Anguloas. I like also those that have interesting shape or colour of their blossoms. Also I prefer those orchids that have nice smell.
These are the orchid genera I try to cultivate: Anguloa, Dendrobium, Brassia, Bulbophylum, Catasetum, Gongora, Miltoniopsis, Rhynchostylis, Vanda, Zygopetalum
What kind of genera do you cultivate?

Hi Milada, awesome collection, I love most of yours and do have them as well. I have a llot of Phals, lot of different Dendrobiums, Vandas, Catasetum, Brassia, Bulbophyllums (love them, 4 different ones), also Miltonia, Cattleya's, Schomburgkia, Masdevallia and Dracula, few Epidendrums, Scaphyglottis, Dendrochilum, Ascofinetia, Brassavola, Grammatophyllum, Cymbidium, Oncidiums, Spathoglottis, Phaius, Paphiopedilum, and few native Florida orchids - Dendrophylax (Ghost Orchid), Encyclia Tampensis (butterfly orchid), and also Encyclia Cochleata (clamshell orchid), also Leptotes and few epicattleyas. Uff, wow, it take a time to even list them, I think I ma close to MAX capacity at my balcony:-)))

I have never heard about Anguloas, so I checked it, very nice, also like Rhynchostylis, do not have any, and Zygopetalum as well. Do you grow in Winter Garden, or Green house, or in the house only? Any pics of your babies in bloom. I must say this is amazing collection you have for Czech Republic, none of my friends go beyond Phals and Dendrobs in Czech:-)))) Great Work!
