Dendrophylax Fawcettii vs. Funalis... help?
can someone enlighten me on the differences of these two little guys?...
maybe pics for each one of them or botanical journals.. I'm not sure if they are the same or different and how exactly... size? color? flower? I just want to know for sure.. |
Funalis has a short spur coming off the back of the plant and is fairly common.
Fawcettii has a long spur coming from the back of the flower and is very rare. As far as I know, no one is offering fawcettii or at least the real fawcettii anyway. Edit:vI do see Peter Lin of Diamond Orchids offering this species and definitely knows his plants, so maybe fawcettii is making its way into the hobby. |
Thank you so much that helps a ton. eveyone is alwasy helpful here

I do not photograph my plants unless it is in bloom; but I was able to acquire both leafless orchids from Peter Lin of Diamond Orchids a couple of years ago=and both of them are thriving well in my environment....they might bloom next year.
