Miniature Orchids, Begonias and More
This could be posted to the outdoor category, or the miniature category, or the mounted category, or the classifieds...but I'll post it here because it's specifically relevant to orchid enthusiasts in Southern California.
This Friday evening at the LA Arboretum the Los Angeles Fern Society will hold a presentation on Begonias/Terrariums. The meeting starts at 7:30pm. The presenter will be bringing some Begonias for the raffle table and I'll be bringing a few plants to sell via silent auction. Mainly miniature orchids, but also a fern, a Rhipsalis and a Tillandsia. All have been grown outdoors year around. Here are photos of the actual plants that I'll be bringing to sell... http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2880/9...0a82efd82b.jpg From left to right... Pleurothallis minutalis, Tillandsia capillaris Pitchfork and Tolumnia hawkesiana, Tolumnia bahamense http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7436/9...f19fd44702.jpg From left to right... Trichoceros oņaensis, Bulbophyllum shepardii, Dendrobium prenticei http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3806/9...9ef962aaf1.jpg Restrepia trichoglossa mounted with Pyrrosia lanceolata?, Hatiora rosea, Kalanchoe uniflora, Peperomia hoffmannii? and Rhipsalis http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3742/9...508fbf29d4.jpg Pleurothallis leptotifolia http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5481/9...ee5928c8e2.jpg Campylocentrum and Cleisostoma scolopendrifolium...two of the smallest monopodial orchids. My secret plan is to get orchid enthusiasts interested in ferns. Errrr...I mean begonias. And my really real secret plan is to get fern enthusiasts into orchids. And my top secret plan is to get people in Southern California to join the Epiphyte Society of Southern California. |
Nice!
