Very pretty. Looks like it should have fragrance.

Bubbach 03-23-2013 09:53 PM

I know right but it doesn't have a fragrance.

It sure looks happy

It's a really pretty Cat; goes to show that it's a lot harder to kill an orchid than most people think! Unfortunately, it will be difficult to ID; unless there is a name tag, it has to be considered a NoID. There are soooo many different varieties, the best you can hope for is someone can tell you the name of a similar Cat. Unless you can afford to run DNA on it and any possible matches, there will be no way to positively ID it. But it is a really nice color combo and beautiful form. Again, someone will most likely be able to steer you toward a look-alike, but it will always be a NoID. Unless you are going to breed it or hope for an award, there really is no requirement for a name. You could just call it "Fred" for that matter, but again, someone out there will be able to give you a close match eventually.
Best of luck with it - you obviously know how to grow Cats!
Steve
BTW - you will find a LOT of similar posts about ID'ing different orchids - and the answer is always the same - no tag = NoID. Sorry!

I agree with Stray59. Very nice but impossible to identify as there are many similar hybrids out there.

I can't tell you the name but it's very pretty.

Very pretty . I figure the reason grandma trying to kill it may be lack of fragrance. Or may be she just got bored of it.
