Hello everybody. My name is Gerda and i have a problem with one of my orchids. As you see in the pictures some of the leaves are turning a little bit brown. What should i do? The new leaves that are comming out look just fine. But at the base of every sprout they get kind of brownish. Should i repot it?

Kind regards,
Gerda

I fertilize at half strenght and about 1 out of 2 weeks. Is that too much?

I dont think so. I dont think it is fertilizer burn but just wanted to make sure :)

You may have rot of some sort. Dont know for sure that its rot just could be.

If its been a while since you repotted you can repot if you want I dont think it will hurt :)

It looks OK to me. I have a Phrag. Hanne Popow (besseae x schlimii) and it does the same thing. It's just the oldest very first tiny leaves that covered the new growth when it first emerged. The rest of yours looks fine. I don't know how you grow yours, but mine likes to be quite wet and standing in an inch of fresh water. Ther fert sounds fine too as long as you flush with fresh water every month or so.
