Onc. ID Needed Partial Name on Tag
 

Pretty much like the title says. I bought this beautiful Oncidium at the Atlanta orchid show last weekend. Brought it home and removed the tag to find out the full name; only to find that all but the first word has been rubbed off. The part that I can read states "Onc. Speckled Sp....." it looks like there are 2 to 3 words after speckled. It has a sweet scent late morning/ early afternoon that reminds me of honey and flowers from the honeysuckle vines and shrubs grown here. Hopefully someone can tell me exactly what I have :biggrin:

The only oncidium registered with a "speckled" in the name is Oncidium Speckled Spire (Rex van Delden x trilobium)

The pics on line for Onc. Speckled Spire look like yours. There are several cultivars such as 'Whisp' and 'Snowflake'. You might want to contact the grower to see if yours was one of them.
