Outside for summer!!
Well, its that time of year here in central Texas. Time to get the orchids outside during the day and intermittently for the next couple of weeks, I'll bring them in at night. This year I bought a $10 rack off of craigslist so I can just pick all the plants up at night and put them all out in the morn with one fell swoop. I've also ziptied them down so they won't fall over when being moved or during a windy day.
These are my heat loving orchids such as Catt. walkeriana, nobilior, amethystoglossa, leopoldii and Stan. reichenbachiana. Most of these guys have already proven to love the 100+ degree days here in the summer, but this will be the Catt. amethystoglossa and leopoldii's first summer outside. I'm expecting success! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8378/8...e167152a42.jpg Outdoor grow area by Isurus79, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8252/8...7c568508f8.jpg Outdoor grow area by Isurus79, on Flickr |

I actually got most of them to sprout from that kit.
All a long way to adulthood though. Orchid look great. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |
I'm jealous of your weather. I have at least 8 more weeks before I can even think about putting the plants out.

Used to grow some of those when we lived in Houston, but it's the opposite up here.

Wow, feeling a long way off summer here. Not even thinking of putting anything out... snow flurries at lunch time though nothing on the ground :icy
