Should be at least 4 new growth buds on this. This is where I felt cutting halfway through the back rizomes could stimulate the plant to grow new buds from the old bbulbs. Not necessary but it is how I push mine to get bigger. The has pushed two vigorous buds so far. These should bloom in sept to nov. When they are halfway through growth phase try switching to a low nitrogen higher PK feed. See what happens. Roots should form when the new growth is nearly complete. Good luck.

Hi James,
Sorry not very good pics I did more better pics but they did not come out. How do I know which are the back rizones. There are some strong roots coming. I am feeding 20-20-20 week feed. Also there is a round bulge on the stem unlike the shoot. Thank you for your help.

The bulges on the bases of the older pbulbs are the new growths developing. This looks like it has at least four which is great. If they are growing sideways or straight out from the growth site you can put a plastic or wooden stake in front of them and they will then grow straight up once they run into it. I use my plastic name tags to do it. It doesn't hurt the new growths but just makes them turn and go up instead of out. Nice plant with lots of vigor. If........you were going to repot this, now is the time to do so. The mix I see here looks a little old and with the new growth coming it would be advantageous to repot it into new media. I'm not saying you should but I would. Your choice. I have found that with so many new buds developing it really helps to put it in new media so the roots, when they come, will have good media to grow into. The roots on the new buds will form when they become mature at the middle to end of this coming summer. If you can, try some kelp extract on them. I hear it is available at hydroponics stores and on the net. Firstrays on this site sells some good stuff I tried last year and it worked pretty well. Can you take some more pics of the other sides of then plant for us. I'd like to see what the plant really looks like.
