I have one coming this week. Does anyone have experience with this plant?

I don't have experience with this particular one, but are you looking for general Dracula or more specific species information?

I found some general culture info IOSPE PHOTOS
- cool to cold growing, low light; being from cloud forest, high humidity. Hope someone else can help more specifically - it's a cutie! |
Thank you for the responses! I have never owned a Drac before. We have relatively cool weather and a bit of humidity. This is one species I'd like to "specialize" in, or better "devote my time" with.
I have done some searching on the web and I was interested to see if anyone had any tips or tricks with this species. Any wisdom you might want to impart would be much appreciated! Thank you! Liana |
Many of the larger Draculas take a lot of space and need to be grown in hanging baskets because their spikes go down through the media, though I don't that's the case with this one. High humidity is also crucial especially with the larger species since the flowers will not open otherwise.

This Drac is a little guy. He looks really healthy and seems to like the green house setup. I need to get some pictures tomorrow.
I am now the proud owner of D. vampira as well. I am so excited! |
