Plants to grow with orchids?

I can think of so many amazing displays I've seen that involve lots of orchids and lots of other plants as well.
I desperately want to include some of these plants in my collection for added texture and visual interest but Google is telling me nothing!
What plants pair well with orchids culture wise?

Tillandsia, almost all Bromeliaceae genera ( if size permits), ferns. For example.

depends by your avalaible space and by the type of orchid you're growing (cool - intermediate - warm)

I thought a little more and realised I have a more specific set of requirements.
What are some plants to pair with my orchids.. that can live in the same potting medium, in medium phal light levels, that stays relatively compact?
Compact is very important..
I wanna have a look at the local nurseries but want to have some idea of what to be on the lookout for...
A local nursery has a large selection of bromeliads but I have no idea how to tell which ones still stay small.

Be very wary of growing ferns along with your orchids. The orchid pot environment is IDEAL for the germination of spores, and soon the ferns will be choking out the roots of the orchids.

That's my greenhouse experience, anyway.

Moss is nice and I have some growing in pots and on a mount. I grow a couple of canivorous plants and they are really perfect. Most of my other houseplants are large (even small trees) and do a great job of providing humidity but take up quite a bit of space.

African violets and ( perennial ) gloxinia. They flower freely and provide a nice burst of colour when the orchids aren't blooming, and vice-versa.........at least mine do !
