Trichoglottis brachiata

found growing in warm forest of the Philippines
I have this in moderate shade and warm temperatures at the south facing window sill all year round with a humidifier and small oscillating electric fans in the daytime. This is in S/H method that I drilled glass vase and this is one of the keiki I separated from the mother plant that is mounted on a wooden basket. This gets flushed every other week and fertilizer with Algoflash alternated with seaweed mix.
I only got one flower this time that has a fragrant smell of anise and blackberries and since it is just a single bloom= it is bigger, flatter and vivid dark red color.

Bud, I think you're trying to get me to grow more vandaceous species again! It's a beauty. How did you drill a hole in the glass? That sounds down right scary to me.

Wow, I love that flower.

Bud, beautiful. I tried this plant once, and proved too much work. Gave it away. But the scent keeps beckoning me to come back LOL.

Thank You, ezil !!!!

you can go to YouTube for videos on how to drill on glass....I immerse it on water while drilling or use a wet sponge touching the drillbit not to overheat....its easy to drill glass once you learn how to do it

Thank You, flexdc !!!!

Los Angeles is a great place to grow brachiata with the moisture in your atmosphere and the warm bright sunny day ( I never experienced a cloudy day when I was in LA )....you only have a few weeks of frost per year....
