C. violacea var. semi-alba 'Icabaru'
This plant is blooming with five flowers on one in inflorescence. The color of the flowers are very striking. The natural spread of the flowers is 4-1/2 inches horizontally. The plant was given to me from a friend in Japan a couple of years ago. The plant is growing in a 5-inch clay pot with New Zealand Sphagnum moss as the media.

That is absolutely stunning Mel!!
Is this the same plant that you posted in 2009 being grown at the Orchid Center in Waianae? I know they are both labeled as 'Icabaru' but I wasn't sure if you got a piece of the plant being grown on the west side or if they are from the same original source in Japan. |
Wow! I love it! Is it fragrant as well?
